Cakes, Bake Decorate...

Cupcakes
 
Ingredients
100g Butter or Margarine
100g Caster Sugar
2 Eggs
100g Self Raising Flour
Drop Vanilla Essence
Equipment
Weighing Scales
Mixing Bowl
Wooden Spoon
Spatula
Tea Spoon
Bun Cases
Baking Bun Tray
Cooling Rack
Sieve
 
Preparation Method
1.    Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4 and line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.
2.   Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale.
3.   Beat in the eggs
4.    Fold in the flour using a spatula until the mixture is of a dropping consistency.
5.    Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until they are half full.
6.    Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden-brown on top and a skewer inserted into one of the cakes comes out clean. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
 
Butter Cream
Recipe
75g Butter
300g Icing Sugar
1Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
3 Tablespoons Scalded Milk
(For Chocolate remove 4 tablespoons of Icing Sugar and replace with Cocoa)
 
Method
1.    Weigh Ingredients
2.   Sieve Icing Sugar/ Cocoa
3.   Mix together into a smooth cream.
4. Spoon on to cupcakes or use a piping bag.

You will be taken on a journey around the world learning how to cook popular one-pot dishes from scratch with the help of a cookery tutor. What’s more, you can then take the meal home and enjoy a scrumptious tea.
This course is suitable for complete beginners
 
Cake Decorating & Baking
10 Week Course

Times: Fridays 09:30am – 12:30pm
Start Date: 19th September 2014
End Date: 28th November 2014
Course Description: If you fancy yourself as the next Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood and want to learn how to perfect your baking skills and avoid those soggy bottoms? Then this is the course for you. You will learn the essential skills involved in baking yummy treats. Learn how to perfect your piping and icing skills and decorate your baked goods with the help of a cookery tutor. What’s more, you get to take them home to enjoy!
This course is suitable for complete beginners
Please note we don't ask for donations on our cooking or baking courses as you will be required to bring the main ingredients of the dish each week and we will provide the basic store cupboard ingredients.
