Art to Make You Smile

We have a special opportunity for students who have already been on an Arts on Prescription course!

Working with professional artists over the summer, you will get to help produce some collaged images made from materials found in charity shops. The images will represent portraits, landscapes, movement or shapes and when finished will be vacuum packed and put on display in charity shop windows across Burnley, Pendle and Ribble Valley.

These display images will also include details of the Arts on Prescription blog, and will hopefully let other people know about the service we offer. This means by taking part you could be encouraging people to join our project and helping others to make stuff, make friends and make life better. We really do want to help as many people as we can!

This offer is only available to the first twelve students to call us on 01282 661784 - we will allocate places on a first come first served basis. You will need to attend a first meeting to find out more about the project and meet the artists on Tuesday 17th July, 11am at The ACE Centre, Nelson. The majority of the sessions will be run in Nelson. There will be no charge for taking part in this project and we can reimburse public transport costs if you keep the bus/train receipts.

For those of you unable to take part in this project we do have some other options for people wanting to carry on with art:

1. We have a permanent Painting and Drawing course running every Thursday morning at Clitheroe.

2. We have found a drop in art class on Mondays at Barrowford Primary School which is open to all, you do not need to have children, or children who attend the school.

3. We have a new partnership with Lancashire Adult Learning and can offer a one year course in Crafts or a one year course in Art for a donation of £40. This would run every Friday at The ACE Centre in Nelson.

Call us on 01282 661784 if you want to sign up or discuss anything, and don't delay as we think the places will fill up quickly!
