Course Title: Exploring Arts and Crafts
BRAND NEW: 12 week course.
Tutors: Karen Alderson, Anita Burrows, Beverley Chapelhow and Karen Redmayne

Course Description:

This is a brand new course designed to let you try a bit of everything on offer through Arts on Prescription. It’s ideal if you have read this brochure and wanted to try every single course. You will cover glassmaking, printing, sculpting and textiles and each topic is taught by an expert. You will be taught by 4 different tutors over the 12 week course.

For example the sculpting sessions are taught by a professional artist who makes 3d cast works. During the sculpting topic you will be using materials such as mod roc (that’s the stuff that covers broken arms and legs usually) to cast your own hands, feet, ears or even everyday objects such as bowls and vases and use those to create a personal artwork.

During the other sessions you will get to try making paper, printing using a printing press, creating patterns, making felted jewellery, wire and plastic bead making, appliqué, transfers onto fabric and other sewing techniques, card making, basic bookbinding and using simple glassmaking techniques to make key-rings and coasters.

This course is suitable for complete beginners and we recommend this course if you are unsure which course suits you.
